These are some photo's from our first trip to Ashridge Woods to film. When we got back into the classroom we realised that we only had about 30seconds of useful footage. However, we realised that on our first outing we were more or less unprepared so decided to get our act together a bit and go out and film again. Although it was a bit of a hassle to get everyone, producers and actors, out on a weekend i'm glad we did because we got some really good quality footage using an HD camera, and we were much more organised this time - I think its good we did it this way rather than doing it in lesson time because we had all day to focus on the task in hand.
Thankfully, the original 30 seconds we taped did not go to waste. We used it to begin experimenting with different effects on FinalCut Express, such as 'bad TV' and various ways of making the lighting lighter and darker. We were so pleased with this we are going to attempt to use this short clip on repeat as our DVD menu.
